The following article presents limitations of the IRIS Plugin.

• Linux-only in the current release. Windows support will be addressed in future versions.

• Restore operations require a running IRIS instance and access to irissession under iris_owner_user.

• Read-only databases are excluded automatically from backups.

• Selective restore requires a valid directories_path file; journal selection requires journal_globals_path when journal_option=3.

• The plugin updates the IRIS backup database list to match selection parameters. Review this if you manage the list manually.

• switchjournal is currently reserved and does not change behavior (IRIS always switches journals during online backup).
