Download NVRAM/VMX

The vSphere Plugin protects NVRAM and VMX files, even if in general, these are not necessary for a restore operation.

Downloading those files is only possible if the plugin is configured to connect to a vCenter host, and not if configured to connect to a ESXi host. It is a best practice to connect to a vCenter host.

The download operation is also dependent on vCenter having the “files” Proxy endpoint working properly. Even if NVRAM or VMX are not downloaded during a backup job, the jobs will be successful, as these files are not critical for restoring purposes.
