Test Bacula Enterprise Infrastructure after Installation

Now that Bacula components are installed, you can run a quick backup and restore with bconsole to check if everything is working correctly:

Open bconsole:

/opt/bacula/bin/bconsole

Run a backup job:

run

(and select one of the jobs that are presented by typing the number of the job and then confirm with “yes”)

Use the “status” command to see if the job is running or has terminated successfully:

status director

Use the “messages” command to see the joblog:

messages

Quit bconsole:

quit
